Mistletoe & Magic: The Junior League of Tyler Preview Party Returns!

My Experience at Mistletoe & Magic 2025 in Tyler, Texas
I had the incredible opportunity to attend the opening night of Mistletoe & Magic 2025 at the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center in Tyler, Texas, and let me tell you—it was pure holiday magic from the moment I walked in. Hosted by the Junior League of Tyler, this event has been a beloved East Texas tradition since 1979, and this year marked its 47th celebration. The theme for 2025 was “A Lone Star Holiday,” and it couldn’t have been more fitting.

A Night to Remember: The “Ropes & Roses” Preview Party
The festivities kicked off on Wednesday, November 5th, with the “Ropes & Roses” Preview Party, and I was thrilled to be there on opening night. The excitement in the air was contagious—everyone’s eyes lit up as the first day of Mistletoe & Magic began. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this was going to be something special. The live auction was one of the biggest highlights of the night featuring amazing trips and exclusive merchandise that had everyone bidding with enthusiasm. The TJC Apache Belles were there selling auction tickets, adding even more local charm to the evening. And I can’t forget to mention Montez Brothers Catering—their tacos were unbelievable! You honestly couldn’t stop at just one.

A silent auction was set up near the front of the building, and drawings for prizes were happening throughout the night. Everywhere I looked, people were smiling, mingling, and enjoying themselves. The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter, music, and the unmistakable feeling of community.
Live Music, Art, and Western Flair
One of my favorite moments was listening to the live band play ‘90s country classics—they even did a spot-on rendition of “The Bluest Eyes in Texas” by Restless Heart. I noticed so many guests embracing the western-style theme with their attire—boots, hats, and plenty of sparkle.

My Girlfriend and I even had a local artist draw our picture, and the detail in the artwork is amazing! It’s something we’ll both cherish as a fun memory from the evening!

A Holiday Tradition That Gives Back
Beyond all the fun and festivities, what really makes Mistletoe & Magic special is its purpose. This event is the Junior League of Tyler’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting community programs and organizations throughout Smith County. Over the years, proceeds have helped fund groups like the Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County, The Fostering Collective, and the Literacy Council—just to name a few.

It’s amazing to see how one weekend filled with holiday shopping and celebration can make such a lasting difference in our community. More than 75 merchants from across the country participated this year, offering everything from handmade gifts and gourmet treats to beautiful art, home décor, and fashion.
Weekend Highlights and Events
The fun doesn’t stop after the Preview Party! The main Holiday Market runs Thursday through Sunday (November 6–8), featuring a packed schedule of special events.
Final Thoughts
Attending Mistletoe & Magic 2025 was such a joy. The energy, the people, the music, and the cause all came together to create a truly unforgettable experience. Everyone was having fun, and I felt proud to be part of something that celebrates community while giving back to it.
If you’ve never been to Mistletoe & Magic, make sure to mark your calendar for next year. Trust me—you’ll leave with full shopping bags, a full stomach, and a full heart.
